Project Description:
The truth of happiness was a project dedicated to define what true happiness and what meaningful meaning is associated within it. We started in a blurry state, collecting information from a variety of sources about happiness throughout the semester. Some examples were reading the book Brave New World, watching many documentaries as well as gathering information from the variety of articles we had read. That was later on added to our annotated bibliography that we would later use to direct our research with a question. With my question, “When do you find your flow state ?” I was able to perceive different sources and apply them to my annotated bibliography. Furthermore, into our project we created a happiness experiments how change can affect your mood and created documentaries of our own attempting to understand happiness. After I still ask myself the project essential question, What is the truth of happiness? All I can say is everyone has a different meaning and I’m still unsure.

What have you discovered your truth of happiness is? :
Throughout this project, I discovered a variety of perspectives of what happiness is truly defined as, from two points of views the scientific point of view and the analytical viewpoint through the emotional component/ physiological. Throughout this project my truth of happiness was a more going on cycle. The truth of happiness is when you aren't forcing a feeling, in the flow and letting go of certain moments that bring you bad memories. Was a state to figuring out “When do you find your flow state ?” as well as gaining new perspectives that have helped get my own perspective. In my own words, the truth of happiness is undefinable. Certain actions can lead to happiness although I think an individual follows their individual truth of happiness.

What was the greatest challenge you faced in this project and how did you work through it? :
I think the greatest challenges I faced throughout this project was over come my perspective. Through my individual research, never focusing on the concept of flow but more on finding happiness within a disability. Believing I didn’t need to focus on flow throughout my research until I realized flow in an individual's happiness within a disability is finding their flow state, to be able to find their individual happiness. I changed my perspective and further to my best efforts define my personal flow. This was holding back my efforts on communication within my group and our concept we were working with. After I changed my perspective everything sort of seemed to click and I understood why my group mates had such an interest for flow. My perspective was focused intensively on flow that if it hadn’t been I wouldn’t have learned so much.

How have you grown as a group worker in this project? :
Throughout this project we were to work in groups to create a video on our research question for our final product. I feel as a group worker our group came closer together as we all contributed as much as we were able to. Being flexible and helping a group mate out when they had to leave and staying on task without the help of a group mate. We all became very organized, and everyone always had something to do. For example, I was the researcher and writer as well as choosing music which I think I am very good at. Since my writing has vastly improved this year and I have been open to new ideas. I think we worked very well together as well as being able to interact with two group mates I had never interacted with. I think all our hard work and stress for this video payed off not only was I proud of the outcome, as well as our contributions. This experience has prepared me in a way to adaptability as well as contribution as a member of a group. I think I will never forget how well everything went our video almost has 200 views and it makes me value more why I chose to come to this school.

If you could refine any part of this project, thinking back through the entire project, brave new world through experiments to videos, what would you refine, and how would you refine it? :
If I could refine a part of this project, I would have added more bi roll to our video. Although, the outcome of our video was so great, if we had more b roll our video would have flowed nicer. I believe our video did have great potential if we were given more time to work as well as more played out transitions. But due to some technical difficulties we were not able to download more biroll to make the transitions more accordingly. Which if it weren't for that our outcome would have been more professional. I think, if I were to redo this project I would have dedicated a day to filming more b roll footage.
