Question # 1: Implicit bias defined
“ The American Bar Association defined implicit bias as, “as influenced by attitudes and stereotypes that we all hold based on our experiences. Implicit bias influences how we act in a subconscious way, even if we renounce prejudices or stereotypes in our daily lives” (para 3).”(Scialabba)

Students of color are at a higher risk for school failure and are more likely to adapt to the negative teacher expectations they are given. If they are told they will never graduate and go off to college the students are likely to not graduate and go off to college. It can also depend on the achievement gap sizes in classrooms via their teacher’s expectations”. ( Denessen)

- In the 19th Century, people who lived in New England were more likely to have access to higher education.
- Unequal achievement between non-white students and students of color as well as the differences in their economic statuses.
- Poverty can often be a factor of educational inequality and can often perform lower due to the lack of resources available to them.
- Charter schools are a solution to help with educational inequality.
