Sea Anemone
I dissected a sea anemone and it was so small I was expecting to dissect a bigger sea anemone. Since it was so small I had been expecting to see much more. This was partial since it was so small. Before I dissected, I gathered background knowledge. When I was researching, I learned about the sea anemone such as:
-Sea anemone don't have a real circulatory system since their system is more water based. The water around them contains nutrients and oxygen. Their cells touch the water to be able to take these in.This is how they get this into their body. These cells come in contact with the water since they don’t have pores.
-Sea anemone feed of cut fish or shrimp.Dine on the flesh of other animals.Their tentacles fire venom tipped barbs to predators.Food is captured in 3 different ways. (Filter feeding), (Raportial capture), (Passive capture).
-Sea anemone start their lifestyles as fertilized eggs. Later develop into Planula Larvae. Are found in tropical and in temperate seas and found in low and high currents. They are found under rocks and crevices where they are cool and damp. They avoid direct sunlight and live for a long time. They are found in coastal waters and deep oceans and coral reefs. They are small marine invertebrates and are closely related to jellyfish and coral.
