The Domestication Project
The Domestication ProjectThe Domestication project was about learning how the scientific method could be applied to questions that could possibly come up about domestication. Diving deep into genes for our background knowledge component for this project. Compiling together what different terms such as pedigree, dominant and recessive meant in order to get an extensive perspective on what domestication precisely really means. Afterwards, we started extensively on our research projects. From there, everyone in the class selected a question to form a hypothesis, experiment and analysis on. Furthermore, we started conducting our experiments, including infield work and student surveys. Further on, after we gathered enough data to conclude to our conclusion. We created an infographic that demonstrated and illustrated our findings for our project.
Diving, into my specific project, I studied whether or not the level of training a dog has received influence the relationship quality with their owner? In my experiment I sent out a survey based on age, gazing into dogs eyes, how many times, for how long and number of classes dog has taken, if they had been to a trainer before. It was hard to test this because I only sent the survey to the 10th grade biology classes. I collected my information and commu tied it into a spreadsheet. Into the spreadsheet I went through the data and collected the most valuable information I needed. I later put this data into a graph to see if my data correlated. My results were The level of training is correlated with the quality of relationship between dogs and their owners. |
